only one Scottish band could’ve been awarded the accolade of breakout star of 2015, it’d have undoubtedly fell to the riveting four piece that we’ve came to know as Catholic Action.

A band that we’ve tipped for greatness since their days of playing The Old Hairdressers and releasing limited release tapes on Fuzzkill Records, it seems that all of that early promise is coming to fruition and looks set to catapult them onto even bigger stages than the ones that they’ve grown accustomed to playing this year.

Having proved their mettle with support slots alongside Swim Deep, FFS and The Libertines as well as superb outings at a myriad of festivals, the Chris McCrory fronted group have ramped things up in 2016 with their first ever video for their forthcoming debut single ‘L.U.V’.

Released via the world renowned Luv Luv Luv; the label that brought us the engrossing formative periods of bands such as Only Real, The Garden and many more, the ‘L.U.V’ which we have before us is a revamped take on a track which first appeared on their split cassette with Poor Things in March of last year.

Filled with rich, vibrant guitar interplay and a glam rock stomp which evokes everyone from Sweet to T Rex and Mott The Hoople, ‘Luv’ is an authoritative opening volley from a band that is not only vying for your adoration but is assured that they’ll receive it by the track’s thrilling conclusion.

Its accompanying video is a whimsical mix of archive content and footage of the band playing live to a distinctly nonplussed crowd. As the track progresses, relations between band and crowd take a turn for the perplexing as those within the hall descend into madness and begin assaulting each other.

‘L.U.V’ will be released on “7 and digital download on the 18th March.
