ART-ROCK favourites Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have shared another preview of their upcoming album with the release of new track ‘Down (is Where I Want to be)’.
Known for his innovation and boundless creativity, the project spearheaded by the multi-talented Alec Ounsworth finds itself in reflective territory this time around; he describes this latest offering as “a song about embracing a low feeling. Better to feel low than to feel nothing at all…”
It’s a wistful sentiment that is brought to life in the most upbeat fashion though; his reflections on his own personal upheaval paired with pulsating rhythms, simmering synths and jangly guitars. Without being chaotic, the track’s multiple layers come together to create vibrant and infectious soundscapes; its uncertain opening building up to a burst of bright catharsis.
The new track will feature on the forthcoming album The Tourist, due to come out on 24th February.
