GLASGOW duo Cloth have shared a new single ‘Low Sun’.

Linking up with Mogwai’s Rock Action Records, the band have also announced the release of a new EP on 7th October, titled ‘Low Sun’.

Known for their minimalist productions and masterful use of space and texture, the new song builds on from the recent ‘Lucid’ which was premiered earlier this summer. Against a pulsing percussive backbone, the band blend their delicate, breathy vocals with deft melodies – it feels sparing yet lush at the same time.

Quietly powerful and uplifting, guitarist Paul Swinton said “We recorded most of Low Sun in the studio we built during lockdown. It was the first song we were able to use the studio for so it’ll always be quite special to us for that reason.

He adds: “The song itself deals with the euphoria that comes from finding someone whose presence is all you need; someone who can make any space seem full when it’s just you and them. It’s also about the scariness of being without that person and adjusting to being apart for long periods of time.”
