ADORED by the indie rock community since the very moment that we heard the first invigorating note of ‘Radar Detector’, Darwin Deez continues to command quite the following and has got his signature sound down to a fine art.
This notion of perfecting his craft was very much affirmed on Double Down, his new album from earlier this year which saw him put on a clinic in infectious guitar pop. In the midst of a lengthy excursion around his native USA, Deez has delivered the video for the fantastic ‘The Mess She Made.’
Intermingling his atypically soothing vocals with intricate yet danceable guitar lines, ‘The Mess She Made’ sees him do precisely what he does best and is yet another immensely catchy track to add to his collection. With a propulsive drum beat and undeniable finesse, it’s a track who found themselves in love with his debut LP would benefit from allowing in their life.
Founded on a simplistic yet no less entertaining concept, the track’s accompanying visuals sees Darwin obscure his own face with oversized bank notes.
Double Down is out now via Lucky Number.
