deathcats

The band: One of Glasgow’s premier acts aligned with the Fuzzkill Records stable, Deathcats have established themselves as a band on the rise due to their lo-fi garage rock sound and immensely entertaining live shows. With the release of the three piece’s latest EP earlier in the week, a new video has emerged for its second track ‘You.’

The video: The video begins as an advertisement starring frontman James Mcgarragle as a karaoke host looking for new clientele. It then cuts straight to his latest customers before the aforementioned businessman makes his entrance, after which all manner of inebriated fun commences.

The sound: The song itself is an incredibly catchy affair with all the hallmarks you would expect from a Deathcats track. Fuzzy guitars, reverb laden vocals and an undeniable energy make this an incredibly immersive listen from the very first note. This will mark the final Deathcats gig before they embark on a hiatus.

The lowdown: The band’s Lel EP is available now via their bandcamp and those looking to catch them live can do so on the 5th December 2014 at Stereo.
