GLASWEGIAN heroes Declan Welsh and The Decadent West release their latest narrative-driven single in ‘100 to 1 (Saturday Night)’.
Creating a narrative that combines humour and honest social commentary reminiscent of Mike Skinner, ‘100 to 1 (Saturday Night)’ employs melancholic arpeggios amidst Welsh’s spoken word delivery. Spotlighting Scottish routine drinking sessions, the notion of boozer complacency is conveyed through shimmering guitar licks and hard-hitting beats. The single forms part of their second album soon to be released by the quartet in the form of ‘2’, expected October 27th.
The tune is made available during the group’s intimate ‘World Tour Of Glasgow’ run, having already played The Rum Shack and Cottiers Theatre. Three more dates are still to be played, including Drygate next on September 22nd, aswell as McChuill’s and Partick Thistle Alan Rough Lounge in October before they embark on a UK tour in November.
