AN art pop outfit that seek to constantly reinvigorate their sound and refuse to be hemmed in by the material that preceded each new release; Manchester’s Everything Everything are continuing to expand their repertoire as they look ahead to the release of their third record. This sense of a reluctance towards any form of restriction is alive and well upon the forlorn ‘Regret.’

Bursting with the eccentricity that first depicted them as an act who were earmarked for greatness; ‘Regret’ sees them stray into a number of disparate genres and yet pulls them all together with aplomb. Featuring a doo-wop structure that harks back to acts such as Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, despite being set against a backdrop of emotive art pop; the track serves as the genesis of one of Jonathan Higgs’ finest vocal performances to date, featuring angst ridden falsetto upon its chorus. One of the most unexpected elements of the latest release is its blistering guitar solo; veering erratically from the understated style of Johnny Marr before seguing into territory regularly inhabited by Kirk Hammett.

The track’s newly released video is a truly bizarre affair; predominantly focusing upon a shamanic gathering taking place in an unspecified forest, led by a prophetic figure who appears to meet an untimely demise.

The band’s forthcoming third record Get To Heaven is slated to emerge on 15th June 2015 via Sony Music, whilst those looking to catch one of their revered live performances can do so on the dates listed below.
