HONEYBLOOD released their massive album Babes Never Die last year, dropping the video from the title-track single filmed during their 2016 tour.
Following on from the snarling punk explosion of ‘Ready for the Magic’ and the exhilarating ‘Sea Hearts’, ‘Babes Never Die’ is yet another triumph from the Glasgow rockers, who have returned sounding more defiant and thrilling than ever. Less cutting than the previous offerings, its effect is no less subtle as it drives forward with clattering percussion and those relentlessly infectious melodies that they have made their forte. Building up to the anthemic earworm of a chorus ‘Babes Never Die!’, the song becomes a triumphant rallying cry that aches to be sung by crowds all over.
Discussing the importance of the track, lead vocalist Stina Tweeddale said: “It was the starting point, the first track written. It’s a song about not dying.” The song and album title itself has become a mantra for Tweeddale in many ways: “I have those words tattooed on my ribs. I guess you could call it a war cry; to have the faith to never let yourself be defeated.”
Babes Never Die is on the album of the same title out now via FatCat Records. Check out the new video below:
