SOMETIMES
the unlikeliest cover versions are the most effective, transporting the track a million miles away from its initial territory and into a genre which the original writer wouldn’t have conceived of.

That’s precisely what has happened with Hot Chip’s ‘Dancing In The Dark’, a re-imagining of the Bruce Springsteen classic which has been a cornerstone of their recent live sets and is set for a full blown release.

Overflowing with the intelligent synths, intricate bursts of guitar and forays into joyous yet immersive house, the band  manage to masterfully weave a sizable excerpt of LCD Soundsystem’s ‘All My Friends’ into their composition. Filled with some of the most boisterous percussion that has appeared on any Hot Chip track in recent memory and the atypically subtle vocals of Alexis Taylor, it’s truly special both live and on record.
