HYYTS have shared their first new single of 2022, and it’s another massive tune called ‘Twice In A Lifetime’.
Gradually perfecting the art of the ‘sad pop banger’ with each release, HYYTS continue their rich vein of form on their new offering. There’s nothing understated about it, as they band channel their love of all things 80s into a big romantic song that’s reminiscent of The Killers or War on Drugs.
Blending soaring anthemics with the thrilling vibrancy of hyperpop, it’s laden with synths, warm nostalgia and big emotions.
Written alongside Benjamin Francis Leftwich, they say “‘Twice in a lifetime’ is our big cheesy 80s love song! We love all those big romantic songs from the 80s like Springsteen and the Cars and the way that people like the Killers and the War on Drugs have done them more recently- anything with cars and high school sweethearts and redemption just feels so romantic and emotional and like something out of a movie and we fucking love it.”
