AS if we needed more evidence that Glasgow is a verified breeding ground for new musical talent, the latest act to thrust themselves onto our radar are indie-rock four-piece IBG.
With their roots set firmly in the city (IBG is said to be an acronym for I Belong to Glasgow), the band have become a familiar fixture on the local live circuit since their emergence in 2014. Now ready to make an even bigger impact, they have unveiled the title track from their debut EP ‘Picturesque’ alongside an accompanying video.
A breezy and melodic affair that lives up to the connotations of its title, the track’s appeal lies in its cascading guitar lines and reflective delivery. Over soft rhythms and wistful melodies, the band are able to conjure a sweet sense of romance and melancholy through their evocative lyricism.
The accompanying video is appropriately picturesque, transporting you to beautiful sea views over the dreamy backdrop of the song. Along with its release, the band’s debut Picturesque EP is now available on all the usual platforms.
