The band: To date, former Smiths legend has released two albums, most recently the release of Playland in October of this year. Now Marr shares the video for ‘Dynamo’, the second single to be taken from the sophomore effort.
The sound: From a musical standpoint, the track is very much in line with the majority of his solo material thus far, an outlet for Marr to write well structured rock ‘n’ roll led by his signature and unmistakable guitar sound.
The video: The video itself is fairly simplistic, taking place entirely within a small, crowded venue that in reality he probably isn’t used to playing. The stage is illuminated with hundreds of light bulbs hanging from above and the crowd are entranced as Marr and his band perform.
The lowdown: ‘Playland’ is available now via Warner Music Group. Those looking to catch Marr live can do so at British Summer Time in Hyde Park on the 26th June 2015. The show will also feature performances from Paul Weller, The Kaiser Chiefs and a headlining set from The Who.
