JOSEPHINE SILLARS has previously appeared on these pages for her ‘Desperate Characters’ EP, and songs like ‘Slow’ and ‘Spend Time Wasting’.
However, this new project sees her show yet another side to her talents, teaming up with Loughlin, otherwise known as Leeds-based musician Jay Taylor.
‘Stuck in Horror (Literally Anything)’ has enjoyed big viral success over the last week, thanks in part to a sample from Welsh actor Michael Sheen – added after a social media request no less. Inspired by a Good Omens scene which they couldn’t use for copyright reasons, they got in touch with Sheen and asked him to say “literally anything” for them to sample – and the results have worked wonderfully.
His literal response adds another layer of drama to the climactic piece – one that opens in minimalist fashion before taking off with galloping rhythms and Sillars’ excellent vocal performance. A compelling listen, you can check it and the full EP out below.
