anyone who had the pleasure of catching this year’s performances at Reading & Leeds Festival will inform you, Compton’s own Kendrick Lamar is less of a hip-hop artist and more of a cultural phenomenon.

Turning in one of the year’s definitive records with To Pimp A Butterfly, ‘K-dot’ has now revealed an extravagant video for ‘These Walls.’

One of To Pimp A Butterfly’s finest tracks, the lyrically complex track sees Kendrick touch on issues relating to human sexuality and isolation. Featuring the incredible bass of frequent collaborator Thundercat and a funk-laden beat which slowly dissipates as the track reaches its more troubling verse, it’s potentially one of the most touching hip-hop tracks of the year.

Based around a raucous house party which soon descends into absolute chaos, the story is told by a narrator who has found himself incarcerated following the evening’s events and even features a hilarious shot of Kendrick and prominent actor Terry Crews ‘hitting the quan.’ Watch the video below:
