LEWIS CAPALDI’S stratospheric rise to stardom has been nothing sort of astonishing to witness over the past 12 months. Just last week, the singer-songwriter, who only had four songs available online at the time, performed in front of a sold out ABC at his biggest headline show to date; a night that will live long in the memory of all those lucky enough to be in attendance.

With a hugely exciting year lined up ahead of him and his European tour now done and dusted, Capaldi has sent his ever-expanding fanbase all over the globe into frenzy with the release of a stunning new track called ‘Rush’. Bearing all the hallmarks of a classic Lewis Capaldi track, his latest offering is augmented by the addition of Jessie Reyez who lends delicate vocal harmonies to the moving composition.

Performed against a soft piano melody, Capaldi’s distinctive brogue is accompanied by sparse beats and guitar strums as the song builds up to a cathartic finale. While both singers display their individual vocal abilities, it is when the two voices are brought together that the song becomes truly spine-tingling.

The release of ‘Rush’ caps off another incredible week for Capaldi which saw him revealed as one of the support acts on Sam Smith’s upcoming arena tour. Set to play some of the biggest venues in Europe, including the O2 Arena in London, he is also slated to perform on the Main Stage at this year’s TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow.
