LINDSAY Munroe is back with a spellbinding new single called ‘Parallel’.

A compelling talent, Munroe’s new material comes after her divorce from a conservative church and finds her revelling in her newfound freedom, taking control of her sexuality and defining her own boundaries.

There’s therefore a real vibrancy to her latest track ‘Parallel’ – one inspired by a friend who embarked on a similar journey to hers. It’s a wonderful, rapturous thing that radiates joy and euphoria. Shifting into a new textural space, skittering drums and pulsing synths drive the music onwards as she reaches new exhilarating heights with the call and response choruses.

Speaking about the song, Munroe said: “For a long time I’ve wanted to write a love song for my best friend. I wrote it last summer when she was still working on the Covid intensive care unit and having an absolutely awful time. Writing a song felt like a bit of a silly thing to do but it’s what I could do.

“I’ve always thought that it’s mad that our culture places so much value on romantic couplings. There’s no doubt in my mind that when I’m an old woman looking back on the big love stories of my life it will be my friends who fill my mind.”
