WITH her eagerly anticipated second EP ‘Mooching’ slated for release on 31st August, Lizzie Reid has shared a brooding new single called ‘Love Of Her Life’.

The singer-songwriter has had a busy summer – making notable appearances at Latitude and Belladrum, completing a run of three sold-out shows at the Glad Cafe and supporting Paolo Nutini in Oban.

The new single is the opener of her upcoming EP, and follows previous singles ‘How Do I Show My Love’, ‘Bible’ and ‘Warpaint’, all of which have gained widespread acclaim from music fans and press alike.

And those who have been present at her recent live shows will recognise it – the track brings a new cinematic flare to her songwriting. Opening with gentle guitar strums and a whistle, it instantly adds subtle new layers and textures to her sound – taking the vulnerable intimacy and homespun feel of ‘Cubicle’ and making it more widescreen and emphatic. Brooding and reflective, it comes to life with a rousing guitar solo – her distinctive vocals full of swagger and soul.

Speaking about the track, she said ““At the time I wrote the song, I felt like I was looking at heartbreak from a new and less naive
perspective. But now I have a bit of distance on it, I can see I was still carrying a lot of baggage. For example, when I say ‘I don’t mind’, I see now that I clearly do mind – but I have a different way of confronting my emotions.”
