Lusts Promo Shot

THE BAND: Leicester outfit Lusts have found themselves amassing a great deal of attention from critics and industry insiders since bursting onto the scene. This consistent acclaim and plaudits has led them to announce their signing to the reconvened 1965 Records and the release of their debut single ‘Temptations.’

THE SOUND: Brothers Andy and James Stone’s debut single is an intriguing composition that finds them carving out a niche of their own within a cluttered musical landscape. Reminiscent of post punk innovators such as Echo and The Bunnymen with the angular riffs of Gang of Four and Wire layered with lashings of reverb. It’s utilisation of chiming synths and their less aggressive nature separates them from modern day purveyors of the sound such as Eagulls and Hookworms; whose vocalist MJ was at the helm of the track’s sumptuous production.

THE LOWDOWN:Temptations’ will be released on the 2nd March via the aforementioned 1965 Records. The winter months will also see them touring extensively, with their second ever live show taking place on 27th January at London’s Birthdays before they embark on a slew of dates in supporting Coves.
