MAN OF MOON are back with the third instalment of their ‘Remixes’ project. The Edinburgh-based duo have been releasing reimagined versions of the songs from last year’s ‘Chemicals EP’ on a weekly basis, displaying their visceral, multi-dimensional krautrock sound in an entirely new light.
Having already unveiled new versions of ‘Ride The Waves’ and ‘Skin’ courtesy of their very own Mikey Reid and underground bedroom producer Amber Leith respectively, the duo have now teamed up with rising star Edwin Organ for another very different take on ‘Skin’.
While Amber Leith’s mix bore resemblance to XTRMNTR-era Primal Scream with its slinking basslines and invasive synths, Edwin Organ lends his own unique, idiosyncratic touch to the track – transforming it into an immersive piece of future disco. Built on a foundation of skittering beats, he adds vibrancy and colour before building up to the kind of funk-laden sequence that Soulwax would be proud of.
Edwin Organ said: “I’ve seen the boys play Skin live a good few times and it’s always a highlight in their set, so it was a real pleasure to be asked to remix it”
