AFTER
sharing a stage with two of Glasgow’s finest female-fronted bands in The Van T’s and Honeyblood at The Art School in September, Martha Ffion put it beyond all doubt that she could hold her own among such impressive company.

Having demonstrated her songwriting credentials on her debut EP Go and garnering an audience thanks to shows such as the aforementioned support slot, Ffion has now released the wonderful ‘So Long’; a great new track which is  delightfully steeped in a bygone era yet puts an intriguing new spin on her sound.

Incorporating healthy doses of wistful melodies that recall acts such as The Shangri-Las and displaying her ability to craft deeply endearing lyrics, ‘So Long’ is one of her most spellbinding compositions to date. A track that could’ve been rendered in Phil Spector’s legendary wall of sound, the occasional ripple of more strident indie bubbles under the surface and provides an interesting dynamic to its jangly instrumentation. Forlorn yet deeply enjoyable, we’re certainly excited to see what the future holds for Ffion.
