Medicine Men (6 of 21)AN exciting Scottish proposition that has been gaining traction in recent times, Medicine Men are an outfit that specialise in good old fashioned rock ‘n’ roll tinged with hues of psychedelia. Garnering a substantial buzz after an impressive showing at this year’s Isle Of Wight Festival, the band have returned with the formidable ‘Lowlands.’

Opening with fizzling synth and poignant chords that nod towards the emotive style of The War On Drugs, the track’s incessant drum beat and effects drenched guitar are custom built to work an already exhilarated into a frenzy. Buoyed by the muscular vocals of frontman Ian Mackinnon, ‘Lowlands’ builds to a hulking crescendo that sounds both contemporary and indebted to 60’s acts such as The Kinks and The Small Faces.

The single will be released on the 4th September 2015 via This Feeling Records, whilst those looking to catch the band live can do so during performance at Glasgow’s legendary King Tuts Wah Wah Hut on the 15th August 2015.
