AN unexpected yet intriguing meeting of the minds, Kevin Parker’s lauded Tame Impala and modern day R&B pioneer Miguel have teamed up for a new remix of the latter’s ‘Waves’.
Enabling Parker and co. to reinterpret one of the standouts from last year’s ‘Wildheart’, The Australian band’s reinterpretation of the track is laden with the kind of smooth textures that accentuated the bulk of last year’s Currents yet still maintains the soul of the original. With Parker lending his trademark Beatles-esque drawl to the backing vocals, it’s an outing that’s sure to please fans of both artists.
Accompanied by a brief video, it sees Miguel and Parker on a beach, gazing thoughtfully at the vast stretch of ocean that lies before them.
Tame Impala’s remix is taken from Miguel’s new Rogue Waves EP which features contributions from RAC, Travi$ Scott and more.
