FOLLOWING the release of their ‘Don’t Look Back’ EP last year, MOY are stepping things up with the release of their new single ‘IDFR’.
Driven by a cool, grooving punk rhythms, the song is packed full of fiery energy – the kind we haven’t really heard from the outfit yet as they pick up the pace with explosive hook after hook. With an intricately crafted production full of spiralling guitar lines and energising backing vocals, the band’s frontman is as charismatic and enigmatic as ever – coming to life on the track’s massive chorus.
They say ‘IDFR’ is a collision of two worlds, with the first instrumental demo being created through late night jam sessions in Glasgow, and the lyrics being written in New Zealand before the band met in 2018. Re-recording the song fresh in 2021 was a trip through time. We recently acquired a rare Japanese distortion box from the ‘80s, which sparked the inspiration to make it the way it sounds today.”
