THE BAND: A hotly tipped act that have already made a substantial impact upon the music industry despite still being in the formative stages of their career; Caithness based 6 piece Neon Waltz have went from strength to strength over the past year. Featuring on many ‘ones to watch for 2015’ lists including our own, the band have returned with the emotive ‘Perfect Frame.’
THE SOUND: Beginning with sorrowful, reverb laden chords and the dulcet tones of vocalist Jordan Shearer, ‘Perfect Frame’ sees them expand upon the sound established by countrymen such as We Were Promised Jetpacks and Frightened Rabbit with astounding results. Slowly raising the temperature after sparse utilisation of percussion and an atmospheric pause, ‘Perfect Frame’ soon erupts in a hail of dense guitars and plaintive declarations.
THE VIDEO: Led by a recurring motif of fish eye lenses and incorporating dizzying camera movement, its accompanying visuals are laden with psych influenced filters and poignant shots of the band. Featuring sporadic inclusion of live footage alongside static shots of buildings and beautiful scenery, the video provides an insight into the kind of aesthetic the band are looking to establish.
THE LOWDOWN: Having recently inked a major label deal with the world renowned Atlantic Records, the band will a release an introductory EP entitled ‘First Light’ on 13th April 2015.
