HAVING had us enthralled with each fiercely ambitious and deliriously infectious release to date, it is with great excitement and anticipation that The Orielles’ latest track ‘Let Your Dog Tooth Grow’ arrives in our mailbox.

Boasting the rhythmic propulsion of the dance-based DFA collective, the swirling melodies of vintage post-punk and the glorious shimmer of surf-pop, the band are known to channel a wide variation of influences – and fans will be pleased to know that they have returned with more of the same. Following a particularly propulsive opening salvo on the drum kit, ‘Let Your Dog Tooth Grow’ soars through bright and breezy melodies, spiralling guitar lines and a formidable rhythm section with Esme’s saccharine delivery offset by a deep echoing accompaniment. It all makes for another exuberant and highly addictive track before it takes an unexpected turn before the end with a surge of distorted synths and trippy psychedelia.

The latest song to be revealed following their well-documented deal with famed indie label Heavenly, it seems that all the hard work is starting to pay off for the Halifax trio who sound increasingly assured with each release. Check it out below.
