THE BAND: One of the biggest punk-tinged bands to emerge from Britain in the last couple of years, the unruly Palma Violets emerged onto the British music scene with a great deal of hype surrounding them, fueled by their brash yet catchy sound and live shows that regularly descended into madness. Looking to continue this run of form, the band have announced their latest LP and debuted its first single ‘Danger In The Club.’
THE SOUND: Not straying a great deal from the sound established on their initial releases, Palma Violets have delivered an enjoyable track that bears hallmarks of a number of legendary artists. With vocals influenced by Iggy Pop and Bowie in equal measure not to mention an overall aesthetic that could have been attributed to a Clash b-side circa 1979, this track is bound to please their vast fan base.
THE VIDEO: Veering from a dapperly dressed Palma Violets regaling its patrons with a rendition of their newest material to a number of mishaps and indiscretions occurring among its occupants, this Roger Sargent directed video revolves around a day within a typical British pub.
THE LOWDOWN: The band’s sophomore album bears the same title as the new track and is set for release on 4th May 2015 via Rough Trade. In terms of touring, those looking to catch the band live can so during the NME Awards Tour at the dates listed below.
