THE BAND: An elder statesman of the British music industry with an unmistakable sound and style, Paul Weller has spent the past few decades transcending his earlier material and bravely immersing himself in a myriad of genres. Preparing to release yet another highly anticipated solo LP, the ‘Modfather’ has released the album’s title track ‘Saturn’s Pattern.’
THE SOUND: Opening with uncharacteristically jovial piano, ‘Saturn’s Pattern’ sees Weller re-appropriate the pop sensibilities that he adopted during his time with The Style Council. Punctuated by sporadic bursts of blues influenced guitar and overtones of pyschedelia, the track utilises an effective fade before culminating in a hail of whirring synths and splashy cymbals.
