SELF-PROCLAIMED ‘Cowboy Grunge’ band POLLY have returned with a brooding new track called ‘8-TRACK’.
After emerging with their debut single in 2020, the Edinburgh band have been exploring an increasingly dark and heavier sound ever since and this takes full effect on their new offering.
Opening with a moody, circular riff, the track is brimming with atmosphere – driven by a formidable rhythm section and filled with heavy, grungy guitars and strong lead vocals. Citing Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth and Soundgarden as primary influences, they allow us a deep dive into the writer’s psyche against a backdrop of brooding, esoteric rock.
