WHEN The Ninth Wave emerged from the shadows last month with their sensational comeback single ‘Reformation’, they did so with a fittingly bold new sense of focus and direction. Packed with gothic ambition, brooding melodies and a blindingly good chorus, the track marked the dawning of a hugely exciting new era for the band; catapulting them into the ears of thousands of new listeners while sparking interest from all corners of the industry.

Ahead of their highly anticipated performance at this year’s Tenement Trail, the band are looking to build on their growing momentum with the release of a brand new interpretation of the track; a remix we’re delighted to premiere here on TTV.

Reworked by the fiercely talented Demob Happy from Brighton, the new version strips the anthemic track of its stomping rhythms and rousing choruses in favour of sparse, crisp beats and a misty etherealness; the dual vocals from Haydn Park-Patterson and Elina Lin have never sounded so angelic, floating over the celestial arrangement as if from another world. The result is a hugely atmospheric and expansive re-imagination of the dark, brooding world that The Ninth Wave inhabit.

The remix arrives alongside a teaser clip for the band’s brand new short film ‘A Night Of Reformation’. Set to be unveiled in the coming days, the film was shot by Lewis Landini at the single’s launch night at The Poetry Club in Glasgow back in July. Featuring behind-the scenes footage alongside live shots of the band in action, the film will not only give fans an intimate insight into one of Scotland’s fastest rising outfits, but it will also display exactly why they are destined to make a massive impact at this year’s Tenement Trail.

Brilliantly unorthodox yet hugely effective, this latest release is yet another example of The Ninth Wave’s massive potential; a band who continue to cut their own path with a bold sense of confidence and creative ingenuity.

Catch them at Tenement Trail on Saturday 30th September alongside a host of some of the nation’s most exciting musical talent. Get your tickets here.
