THE VEGAN LEATHER confirmed their status as one of the country’s hottest prospects when they unveiled their irrepressible debut single ‘Shake It’ earlier this year. Utterly infectious, eccentric and invigorating from start to finish, the track thrust the band into the ears of thousands of new listeners as it climbed to impressively lofty heights on the Spotify viral charts, ousting major players like Kasabian along the way in its rise to the top.
Looking to build on this exciting period of growth and development, the four-piece have unveiled a fantastic new visual to accompany the track; a video we’re delighted to premiere here on TTV today.
Shot by Cameron Brisbane and edited by the band’s own Gianluca Bernacchi, the clip is a typically vibrant and eccentric affair which perfectly captures the essence of the track in all its fluorescent glory. Swathed in the group’s iconic pink, the video is quite Lynchian in execution – hypnotic sequences coming together in truly alluring fashion before a head-spinning climax.
Already a firm favourite as part of their thrilling live shows, the track itself is as bold and refreshing as ever. Boasting a solid foundation of funky basslines and synths, it quickly develops into a heady mix of sparkling choruses and sweet harmonies before a truly explosive finale; gang-like chants of ‘Shake It!’ bellow out over a blast of heavy guitar-funk and head-spinning electronica as the track draws to an almighty finish.
As they go from strength to strength, it seems inevitable that The Vegan Leather’s stratospheric rise to stardom will continue throughout the rest of 2017. The band have a busy summer ahead with appearances lined up at XpoNorth, TRNSMT Festival, Doune the Rabbit Hole and more.
