Topping our selections this week is Roller Disco Death Party. ‘Move Dance Groove’ is a groove-heavy electronic dance track
featuring Paque’s hip hop vocal and production from Jagz Kooner (Sabres of Paradise, The Chemical Brothers, Oasis).
Reminiscent of classic Chemical Brothers energy, the tracks is a continuation of the band weaving the love of the club into a infectious
rhythms that celebrates a good night out.
Richard Ashcroft ‘Loving You’
The ‘Lovin’ You’ single is representative of Richard’s ability to continue to evolve his sound, without losing sight of his core artistic identity. His inventive use of loops combined with punchy, hip-hop beats shows a fresh flair for the unconventional. The single was written by Richard with a co-writing credit for Mason Williams for the ‘Classical Gas’ riff. Richard co-produced the track with Emre Ramazanoglu. ‘Lovin’ You’ is now available to pre-order HERE.
GIFTHORSE, hailing from North London, are a sophisticated indie pop duo, drenched in dreamy vocals and fuzzy guitars. Their latest single, “Please Love Me” is an unapologetic love song, referencing their local London haunts, Hamstead Heath, Highgate Cemetery, and Waterlow Park, with lead singer Naomi Mann asking, “Do you think of me as your English rose?” Guitarist and back-up vocalist, Charlie Butler accompanies Mann’s voice with his guitar sound shoegaze-esque sound. Enchanting and observational, GIFTHORSE allow you to escape into their world of self-described, “frazzled English pop.” Tenement Trail will be the band’s first ever gig in Glasgow.
Honeyglaze – Turn Out Right
On the back of their 2024 release, “Real Deal” Honeyglaze returned with a stripped-back single “Turn Out Right.” The track is part of Opus Kink’s collaboration album,“A Hideous Collective.” All proceeds will be going towards supporting grassroots venues, and touring funds.“Turn Out Right” is a demo that never made it onto “Real Deal.” On the track, Anouska Sokolow said, “Its themes are similar to other songs on the album in that it’s a melancholy tongue-in-cheek, but
ultimately hopeful.”
Chartreuse – Bless You and Be Well
The title track from their 2nd album, Chartreuse returns with “Bless You and Be Well.” Recorded in Flóki studio in the rural Icelandic area of Haganesvíkurvegur, the British rock band’s chemistry is immediately felt. This chemistry comes as no surprise, the band consists of brothers Rory and Mike Wagstoff, Rory’s longtime partner Hattie Wlson on piano and vocals, and Hattie’s childhood friend Perry Lovering on bass. The track itself has shades of Radiohead, with clear,
multi-disciplinary talent, showcasing their expansive sound.
