FRESH from her victory at the Specsavers Scottish Music Awards where she won the Tennent’s Light Breakthrough Award, Rianne Downey has shared a new single called ‘Home’.

Marking her first outing since ‘Devil’s Gonna Get You’ which launched her landmark summer at TRNSMT, Neighbourhood Festival, the Isle of Wight Festival and more, the new song tracks her personal and artistic growth.

Written at a transitional period of her life when she was moving from Scotland to Liverpool, it finds her reflecting on her departure while looking forward to new beginnings. Imbued with a real sense of empathy and reassurance, the song highlights her growing confidence as a songwriter and will undoubtedly serve as a note of encouragement to others.

She says of the song:““I wrote ‘Home’ when I was still wondering whether I wasgoingto stay or go. I always wanted to look to and travel over the horizon. Although I love Scotland, being from a small place can make people afraid to venture into the big wide world. That’s great for anyone that can settle, but it was never for me.”

Recorded with producer, Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Courteeners, Spector) at the mixing desk, Rianne has emerged from the studio with a fresh batch of material which will be released over the coming months – including a new EP.

Tune into ‘Home’ below.
