THE BAND: The undisputed breakout band of 2014, Brighton based hard rock duo Royal Blood have saw themselves elevated to heights that they wouldn’t have fathomed upon their inception in 2013.  Beginning last year with a string of high profile shows before their eponymous debut album propelled them to new heights and saw them ascend the charts, the band have continued to bask in the glory of their catalogue with a new video for ‘Out Of The Black.’

THE SOUND: Led by clattering and propulsive drumming with a thunderous riff ; Out Of The Black is one of the standout tracks from their raucous debut. its peculiar structure and odd time signatures demonstrate their virtuosity as musicians whilst its rousing aesthetic has led to a resurgence of heavier music garnering the attention of the mainstream.

THE VIDEO: Having previously released a straightforward and restrained performance based video for the song, the new visuals delves into the cinematic territory that they discovered with ‘Figure It Out’ and it’s character led piece. A collaboration with Adult Swim’s Christy Karacas and renowned director David Wilson, the song’s accompanying visuals evoke the spirit of 70s B Movies with its outlandish plot and vividly animated violence.
