SHAMBOLICS share infectious new indie pop tune ‘Never Be Mine’ alongside the announcement of debut album ‘Dreams, Schemes & Young Teams’ available February 2024.

‘Never Be Mine’ is the perfect place to start for newcomers to the Shambolics hype, soaked in catchy melodic hooks and relatable lyrics produced by Chris Marshall (Gerry Cinnamon). Alongside their new single, Shambolics bring the announcement of a debut album, ‘Dreams, Schemes & Young Teams’, released on February 16th via Scruff of the Neck Records.

Elements of influence from indie giants The La’s, Arctic Monkeys and Sam Fender are present within the album, intertwined with Shambolics’ renowned local dialect vocals and shimmering guitars. Lyrical exploration involves a social commentary of small-town life, creating imagery inspired by vocalist/guitarist duo Darren Forbes and Lewis McDonald’s youth growing up in Kirkcaldy.

Shambolics capture the frustrations and aspirations that young working class adults are experiencing across the UK. Reflecting a society trapped in budget cuts where opportunities are scarce, the quintet provide joyous optimism with reassuring ideas for better times to come.

Vocalist/ guitarist Darren Forbes says, “We wanted the songs here to be quite uplifting, including the ones that deal with social issues. It’s like even though shit happens, it’s going to be okay. It’s about trying to find some hope in the bleakest of times, about finding an escape from the terrible situation young people currently find themselves in.”

Boasting an impressive CV of live performances, the Glasgow-based lads (who are signed to Alan McGee’s Creation 23 Label), have enjoyed packed headline shows at Glasgow’s Garage and SWG3, as well as festival slots at Isle of Wight, TRNSMT, Truck Festival and Y NOT?.

Next on the Shambolics schedule is a sold-out show at King Tut’s, followed by tours with Little Man Tate and The View. Details of their biggest headline tour to date are to be unveiled soon.
