FAST-RISING Gourock five-piece SLIX have made a thrilling return with the release of new single ‘Rewind’.
The band have cultivated a passionate fanbase off the back of their recent releases, and they’ll be looking to propel this growing momentum with a slot at next week’s TRNSMT Festival on the River Stage. Following in the footsteps of many local bands that have been before them, it’s sure to mark another big milestone in their fledgling career.
Ahead of the gig, the band have shared ‘Rewind’, their second single of their year and one of their best to date. Set against an infectious disco beat, the track is all jangly guitars, punchy basslines and huge hooks while frontman Robbie Peden’s powerful vocals shine bright – it’s a potent mix that will see them go far.
An ode to their hometown, the band say: “Rewind is an honest reflection of our experience growing up in Gourock beside the River Clyde, showing our appreciation of our hometown and all the memories we have associated with it. It’s one of our more optimistic endeavours lyrically, being hopeful for our future and showing belief that we’re determined to make a statement with our music.”
Bustling with ambition and hope for the future, we can’t help but feel we’ll be hearing a lot more of SLIX in the not too distant future.
