HAVING lain dormant for a substantial amount of time since the release of 2013’s superb debut LP Comfort, there was a great deal of concern whether a follow up would be delivered to us any time in the near future.
Luckily, our fears have been alleviated with the arrival of ‘Pure Blue’, a tremendous new track from the London outfit that is demonstrative of their direction going forward.
Fusing hard hitting riffs with an air of effervescence which recalls bands ranging from A Sunny Day In Glasgow to The War On Drugs at their most abstract, ‘Pure Blue’ tows the line between pulse racing alt-rock and the untarnished beauty of shoegaze. With delicate vocals and surging synths, it is notable that Splashh seemed to have upped things in terms of their production; shooting for a more dense sound as opposed to the lo-fi tendencies of their debut.
‘Pure Blue’ will be released alongside ‘Nobody Loves You Like I Do’ on the 30th October 2015 via Luv Luv Luv.
