AFTER blowing us away with her latest album Masseduction, the incomparable St Vincent has unveiled a psychedelic new video for one of its featured tracks ‘Pills’.
Every bit as striking and idiosyncratic as her recent videos for ‘Los Ageless’ and ‘New York’, her latest visual offering was directed by Phillipa Price and depicts four drugged up homemakers taking the edge off American life with their favourite chemicals. As if to make a statement about the supposed American dream, the characters are completely dead behind the eyes as they dance along like mannequins.
Undoubtedly one of the main highlights of Masseduction, the track bursts with nervous, feverish energy as she playfully dissects the impact of the pharmaceutical industry on modern day living. Check out the video via Tidal here.
