Having held listeners in the palm of his hands for the last decade with his strident indie songwriting and diverse arrangements, he continues his solo venture with all the drive and ambition we’ve come to expect.
Teaming up with producers Johnny Madden and Chris Marshall, the pair help to ramp up the tempo and energy, while amplifying Young’s signature classic style and songwriting flair.
Driven by a formidable rhythm section that never quite lets up throughout, it’s a typically diverse and multi-layered arrangement – rich with texture and cinematic flair. And with Young’s brooding Alex Turner’s vocal taking the lead, the manic saxophone and effected vocals and keyboard merge seamlessly as it soars to new anthemic heights.
