FOLLOWING on from the release of ‘Chains’ at the tail end of last year, Steven Young is back with ‘Delirious World’.
A brooding and atmospheric cut, the new track is nothing short of cinematic as he blends elements of baroque pop, contemporary indie-rock and rockabilly to great effect. Scything guitars, rockabilly tones and a galloping rhythm section form the backdrop to his rich, soulful vocals as he creates a sound reminiscent of artists as diverse as Last Shadow Puppets, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Johnny Marr.
Laced with menacing undertones, the track explores ego, death and mortality in three and half compelling minutes.
