THIS week’s RADAR TRACK OF THE WEEK is a collective effort from a trio of highly sought-after Scottish artists.
Marking the formation of a rap-dance supergroup, ‘M4 Freestyle’ sees Aberdeen DJs and producers t e s t p r e s s team up with fast-rising rappers Bemz and Chef.
The Aberdeen pair have been building a formidable reputation over the last couple of years with their high-energy dance tunes, taking on a Sub Club residency before honing in on their studio skills and releasing their ‘dialupdilemma’ EP earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Bemz and Chef have also been flying high – the former picked up Best Live Act at the SAMAs recently and joined The Snuts on tour, while the latter released his debut EP ‘The World Is Mine’ and has been continuing to pique interest way beyond the reaches of his Aberdeen hometown.
On ‘M4 Freestyle’, we find each artist in brilliant form with the masterful t e s t p r e s s laying down the pulsing backdrop to Bemz and Chef’s freestyle rap. Gaining in intensity as it progresses, both Bemz and Chef give stellar turns, showcasing their distinctive talents with clarity and composure. What’s more, they blend effortlessly with the pulse-quickening, club-ready backdrop.
