THE side project of The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, his latest band The Arcs are filling the Patrick Carney-sized void in the guitarist’s life whilst he recuperates from a rather ghastly injury.
Preparing to release their debut LP Yours Dreamily in the coming weeks, they’ve aired the video for the smouldering ‘Put A Flower In Your Pocket.’
Never deviating far from the territory in which The Black Keys reside, the key feature of ‘Put A Flower In Your Pocket’ is the way in which it removes the bluster of their recent stadium-sized tunes in favour of a back-to-basics blues stomper. Featuring atmospheric stabs of synth that intermingle with Auerbach’s trademark brogue in a stunning fashion, The Arcs have aligned themselves with modern day blues purveyors such as Gary Clark Jr with this latest outing due to its adoption of a wallowing pace and deeply affecting guitar.
Yours Dreamily will be released on the 4th September 2015.
