HOTLY-TIPPED four-piece The Big Moon have revealed a new track called ‘Silent Movie Susie’. Fans of the band will already be aware of the song as it has become a staple part of their raucous live set, generating chaos with its big hooks and raging chorus.
With their acclaimed EP ‘The Road’ and single ‘Cupid’ both released earlier this year, the band are creating more excitement with each output. This latest track displays their growing confidence in their songwriting, capturing their live energy to great effect; something that is not always easy to do on record. With guitar sections linking together, it gallops towards a big chorus with Jules Jackson’s unmistakeable croon backed by customary ‘wooh-ooh’ refrains as she yearns for ‘Susie’ to come back. By channelling their garage rock and indie influences, the four-piece have created a feel-good, grin-inducing pop anthem for summer made to be played with lots of volume.
With a number of festival appearances under their belt this summer, The Big Moon will be supporting the Mystery Jets on tour this October with a headline tour following shortly after, which will include an appearance at Glasgow’s King Tut’s on 29th October. They are also set to capitalise on their growing popularity with studio time booked to record their debut album.
‘Silent Movie Susie’ is currently available on digital platforms with a vinyl release on the 25th September. Listen to the track below and scroll down for tour dates:
