The band: The Horrors arrived on the scene in 2006 spitting out the primal garage/punk sound. Since then they have spent a little bit longer gazing at their shoes, as their sound gradually developed into a more ambient and evolved musical style. With three albums already under their belt they have just announced their much anticipated fourth – ‘Luminous’.
The sound: I See You is the first single from that new album (listen below). The opening minute packs in a mix of sounds, somewhere between Daft Punk and Boards of Canada. Then the psychedelic vocals arrive, sounding a little David Bowie-ish. It’s a seven and a half minute epic, but The Horrors sure know how to fill that time.
The lowdown: New album ‘Luminous’ is out on the 5th May. Then they have a couple of exciting festivals coming up like the Six Music festival on the 28th February and the Isle of Wight festival in the middle of June.
