prodigy-day-is-my-enemy-schpunk-essexTHE BAND: One of Britain’s biggest musical exports of the past 20 years and a group that have managed to maintain unwavering popularity and relevancy, Essex based dance pioneers The Prodigy look set for a busy year. Teasing their all encompassing and global fanbase with hints of new material and trailers  since the latter stages of 2014, today has saw them not only be announced as headliners at this year’s Benicassim Festival but also debut an incendiary new track in the form of ‘The Day Is My Enemy.’

THE SOUND: The eponymous track from their forthcoming album, ‘The Day Is My Enemy’ displays The Prodigy at their most abrasive. Utilising relatively staid vocals throughout its chorus, they are a jarring contrast  to the relentless barage of synths and pulsating drums that define it. A track that will undoubtedly be well received by their core fanbase for its melding of  Invaders Must Dies’ glitchiness and the driven beats of Fat Of The Land into a cohesive and fresh sound; expect to see the composition become a staple of their live sets over the coming year.

THE LOWDOWN: The Day Is My Enemy will be released on the 30th March via Cooking Vinyl, whilst those looking to catch the dance legends live can do so on their UK tour on the dates below.
