BRISTOL newcomers The Shimmer Band have revealed a new track and video by the name of ‘Jacknife and the Death Call’.

A band who have caught the eyes and ears of a number of notable industry experts over the past year, they follow up their previously acclaimed singles with their most bold and emphatic offering to date. Adding a muscular weight to their already substantial sonic palette, the track possesses a thunderous rock & roll swagger and punky attitude; the hip-hop inspired beats adding a new dimension to their massive sound.

Full of smashing drums, electrifying synthesisers and infectious chorus harmonies, Tom Newman’s visceral vocal performance lending a bullishness to the track. Channelling the bombastic rock & roll of the nineties, it’s a sound that feels familiar yet ambitious all at once.

The accompanying video sees the band perform the song in the basement crypt of St Emmanuel’s Church in Bristol; its shadowy and dramatic atmospherics adding to the intensity of the song.

The band will join Cabbage on their UK tour later this year, during which they will appear at Glasgow’s Stereo on 25th February.
