THE VACCINES have returned with a brand new single ‘Headphones Baby’.

After releasing the 10th anniversary edition of their debut album What Did You Expect from The Vaccines? with demo versions of the songs last month, the band are back doing what they do best with this fizzing slice of indie-pop.

Bearing all the hallmarks of a classic Vaccines tune – big, catchy choruses and strident guitar parts – with even more pop influence thrown in the mix, it’s a euphoric return and a vibrant dose of escapism.

“‘Headphones Baby’ is about creating an escape from that – plugging in to plug out and cocooning yourself from the reality of the outside world in the warm embrace of somebody else’s mind,” said the band’s lead singer Justin Hayward-Young of the new track.

“The song should sound like a fireworks display – a call to arms. And if you want life to feel like it’s permanently in technicolor then we might know where you can find it.”

The song serves as the first taste of the band’s forthcoming fifth album – the details of which are yet to be revealed. We do know it’s expected to arrive later this year though.
