DESPITE their relative youthfulness, The Vegan Leather are a band that have cultivated an incredibly accomplished sound.
Fusing elements of a myriad of genres together into a heady and infectious mix that’s bound to get you dancing, the four piece have impressed throngs of music lovers with not only their debut EP but subsequent live performances at Electric Fields and a sold out gig at Glasgow’s famed Nice N Sleazy’s.
Enlisting the service of none other than PRIDES’ Lewis Gardener on production duties, the band have set themselves up for a prosperous year ahead with the release of their new single ‘This House’, a release which we’re delighted to premiere exclusively on TTV.
Setting off with swirling, ambient leaning electronica which lulls the listener into a false sense of security, ‘This House’ soon bursts into life with kaleidoscopic synth and pulse quickening percussion. Exuding the decadence of 80’s new wave yet with a notably considered and modern approach, it sees the band embrace their eccentricity in an incredibly effective fashion. Culminating in a flamboyant deluge of synth and post punk tinged guitar,’This House’ serves as an excellent introduction to those who may not yet be acquainted with this ambitious and exhilarating outfit.
Also featured on the release is ‘Les Jours Passent’, a jaunty re-imagining of ‘Days Go By’ from their debut EP which transforms the track from a fidgety synth pop number to an altogether more whimsical piece which demonstrates the band’s experimental viewpoint.
This House will be released on the 16th November.
