POWERING their way into your subconscious with an onslaught of abrasive post-punk are The Vulgarians with their brand new track ‘Hands Around The Waste’.

The Hull newcomers have just announced details of their new EP Almost-Instinct, Almost True, due out on May 5th. Produced by MJ of Hookworms (Honeyblood, Eagulls, Pulled Apart By Horses), the three-track release is said to demonstrate a distinct progression in sound and this lead single is our first indicator of what to expect.

A typically dark and acerbic number, the track also sees the band in more focused form; their thrashing choruses surrounded by restrained verses. Boasting a tight rhythm section and incessant groove, the vocal snarl of frontman Ryan Wilson-Preen instils a barbed and unsettling energy from the outset; a dynamic that becomes increasingly abrasive as the track progresses.

The Vulgarians will head out on tour with The Wytches at the end of this month, with a headline UK tour of their own soon to be announced. Listen below:
