THE Wholls haven’t exactly been an idle band. Their indie-fuelled rock sprinkled with dub has caught the attention of many including BBC Introducing in recent weeks.
On their newest single ‘X21’, you can see why. The way vocalist Tordy Cocchiarella spits out his words is brutal and direct, almost like a more potent and reggae-infused Dan Auerbach, with jangly guitars and an enthusiastic chorus.
The fact that The Wholls are working with LA producer Steve Baughman, who has contributed with huge names such as Michael Jackson, Usher and Eminem, shows the height of their potential, and what is to come from them in the next year.
‘X21’ will be released on 4th March 2016, and the band will play a date at Glasgow’s King Tut’s before that on 19th February. Listen below:
