The band: Tijuana Bibles are a Glasgow based four-piece whose current line-up assembled late in 2012. Their debut EP ‘Wild River’ was released in April 2013 and quickly gained the band a lot of attention. They were nominated for best newcomer at this year’s Scottish Alternative Music Awards and are on track to be announced for some big Scottish festivals this summer.
The sound: Its Rock n Roll, the deep vocals, the punchy, head bobbing riffs, the squealing guitar solos and the simple chorus’ all allude to this. Their new track Toledo has hints of Deep Purple or The Sword, it carries the same aggression and passion and will have you thumping along to the beat.
The lowdown: Toledo will be released on the 14th March and on the same day they kick off their five date tour of Scotland, finishing on the 22nd March. They also have their first UK wide tour in June which will coincide with their second EP release. You can download the track for free here from Friday 14th March.
